How was VIMY HR born?
“In 2015, I was stuck in the corporate grind, feeling burnt out and disengaged. The energy industry was in turmoil, and layoffs were rampant. After nearly a decade with my company, I decided to take the leap into the unknown. I took four months off to recharge, and soon, friends and my network started seeking my advice on employment and HR matters. That’s when the lightbulb moment hit: Why not offer this advice professionally? And so, VIMY HR was born in 2016.”
Why did you start VIMY HR?
“I founded VIMY HR in 2016 because I believed that accessibility to HR support was pivotal to business success. I recognized that small companies and nonprofits might not always be able to afford a dedicated full-time HR professional. This lack of affordability provided a unique opportunity to provide an affordable model of human resources services.”
How has VIMY HR grown since its inception?
“Over the years, VIMY HR has grown into a strong team of dedicated consultants who are passionate about helping business leaders achieve their goals in building thriving workplaces. We work alongside leaders to deliver no-nonsense, tailored, and cost-effective HR strategies. We’ve perfected fractional HR support with a proven framework we call “The VIMY Way,” providing sustainable HR strategies.”

What would you focus on first if you started your business over today?

What was your biggest challenge before doing a personal brand shoot?
“I have had to learn to be bold. I don’t like being in the spotlight, but I believe so strongly in what we do at VIMY HR and the positive impact we make in our business community. I knew I had to get over my discomfort so that I could highlight our company. Shannon made the experience fun and empowering!”
